UML chair ready to accept Maoists

THT Online

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal said on Friday that he has told the Maoists to forge consensus if they want to lead the new government.

Saying there is no alternative to an agreement, Khanal opined that it would not be logical to think over what would happen if the parties fail to form national consensus government.

Talking to the media after an interaction with the UML cadres organised at the party headquarters in Balkhu today, Khanal revealed that he has told the Maoists to put forth their proposal.

According to him, the basis for support, however, would be the plan to ensure the peace process and constitution drafting, implement the past pacts and win confidence of other parties.
