President Ram Baran Yadav has instructed staff of his office and related government bodies including the traffic police not to trouble the people by obstructing traffic for long time during his convoy, Kantipur daily reported.
President Yadav instructed his staff not to schedule any programmes that involves traveling during rush hours and to correspond with the traffic police asking them not to stop traffic for more than two minutes during his convoy.
Following the President's instructions, his office wrote to the Metropolitan Traffic Division not to obstruct roads for long time in the name of Very Very Important Persons (VVIP)s convoys.
The President's instruction comes at a time when the security agencies including the traffic police are making special arrangements for the President's convoy passage to Constituent Assembly (CA) building, New Baneshwar to present the current fiscal year's policies and programmes after the formation of the new government.
Kathmandu had witnessed the year's worst traffic jam due to the grand arrangement for the President's convoy while presenting the policies and programmes last year. He was taken to Singha Durbar in a special convoy and then to CA building Singha Durbar in a horse-pulled buggy. nepalnews.com
