Dubai cops book 4 for trafficking Nepali lass
KATHMANDU: The Dubai Police referred the four members of a gang that forced a Nepali woman into prostitution after holding her captive in Dubai to the public prosecution on charges of human trafficking and running a brothel, local media reported on Friday.
According to Khaleej Times Online, the accused include two Bangladeshi and two Indian nationals.
Aspiring for the job of a domestic help, the 23-year-old woman had reached Dubai in December last year. One of the foursome received her from the airport and took her to an apartment in Deira, where she was forced to have sex with them. She was beaten up for resisting.
Thousands of Nepali women go to the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries every year to work as domestic help. However, they are exploited in one way or the other.
