Maoist cadres forming human chain in Ring Road to 'gherao' capital

Cadres of Unified CPN (Maoist) have gathered in the Ring Road area from various parts of the valley where they have been imposing the strike since early morning to form a human chain along the 27 kilometer stretch to "gherao" the capital on the third day of their indefinite nationwide general strike, Tuesday.

Maoist party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior vice-chairman Mohan Vaidya, vice-chairmen Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Narayan Kazi Shrestha including other senior party leaders have reached the ring road area in a mini bus to address a special programme that is being organized there.

The Maoist leaders had lead thousands of party cadres and supporters wearing red t-shirts through major thoroughfares of the capital to the Ring Road area where a mass meeting is taking place shortly to call upon the local people of the capital to take to the streets for "peace and constitution".
